About This Show

The Koger Center for the Arts is proud to present “Live Outside” for its second season. Join us on Sunday, October 13 at 5:00 p.m. for the final free concert of the series on the Koger Center Plaza Stage.

This concert’s featured opener is The Industry, a local rock band. The Industry is an alternative rock group focused on the combination of sounds from psychedelic, classic, and indie rock. Based in Columbia, SC, they pull inspiration from bands like King Gizzard & Lizard Wizard, Blue Oyster Cult, Toro y Moi, Tame Impala, and Pink Floyd, among many others. The band is made up of University of South Carolina students and alumni, who bonded over their similar tastes and experimental tendencies. The band has released 2 singles so far, the first installments of their upcoming debut album. The Industry’s on-stage and social media presence is playful, with the intention of having fun through artistic exploration. From their heartfelt ballads to their adrenaline-fueled bangers, their experimental, genre-blending sound subverts expectations, for a dynamic and engaging live show.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is an indie rock band active since the early 2000s in and out of Philadelphia. The band was founded as a collaboration between singer-songwriter Alec Ounsworth, Sean Greenhalgh, Robbie Guertin, Lee Sargent, and Tyler Sargent. Ounsworth now performs under the name, as a solo artist. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has released a total of six albums. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 2005 and their most recent, New Fragility, in 2021.
